چکیده

Abstract Aim Traditionally, the posterior condylar offset ration (PCOR) has been calculated from lateral radiographs however new evidence suggests that a measuring technique based on 3D imaging may be superior. MRI trialled, but no protocol standardised and evaluated for reliability. This study aims to create reproducible reliable as well exploring whether there are any morphological differences in PCOR. Method A team of 5 researchers collaborated 2 novel ways evaluating PCOR healthy knees, one transepicondylar axis (TEA) (PCA). The hospital database was searched all scans reported having internal derangement. From 103 eligible sample 10 selected analysed by 4 independent reviewers order assess inter-rater same also reviewer two separate occasions establish intra-rater Results Both methods demonstrated significant difference morphology between condyles. Gender found not factor morphology. When calculating TEA method good reliability shows higher degree than PCO protocol, yet consensus achieved among using either method. Conclusions No condyles or genders were found. superior nevertheless it is difficult an easily applicable, reliable, protocol.

Correlation between posterior offset of femoral condyles and sagittal slope of the tibial plateau.

The aim of this study was to address, in normal knees, the variability of posterior offset of femoral condyles and tibial slope, and the presence of any correlation between the two that might be needed to achieve an adequate joint motion in flexion. Magnetic resonance images of normal knees of 80 subjects, 45 males and 35 females, with a mean age of 38.9 years, were analysed. Measurements were ...

A Technique of Predicting Radiographic Joint Line and Posterior Femoral Condylar Offset of the Knee

Purpose. To describe a reliable method of predicting native joint line and posterior condylar offset (PCO) using true lateral digital radiographs of the distal femur. Methods. PCO was measured relative to a line drawn parallel to the posterior cortex of the distal femur and the joint line was measured from the posterior condylar flare to the articular surface. A ratio was then calculated for th...

Posterior condylar cartilage thickness and posterior condylar offset of the femur: a magnetic resonance imaging study.

PURPOSE To measure the femoral posterior condylar cartilage (PCC) thickness and the posterior condylar offset (PCO) and determine the correlation between the 2 parameters in 530 normal subjects using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). METHODS Records of 287 male and 243 female patients (mean age, 40.7 years) who underwent MRI for traumatic soft tissue knee injuries not involving the femoral PC...
